Here's a bunch or videos from over the years. Hope you enjoy. It was fun revisiting this stuff myself.

Some backstage stuff during the making of 2002's "Every Song Tells a Story".
Randy's reflections and insights. Pretty cool to watch if you have time to kill...
In the 70's and 80's Vancouver had it's own little daily news junket show called (appropriately) The Vancouver Show. There was a house band and they had special guests on. It was usually quite a good show, and I personally tuned in on a regular basis. On this particular shooting, they had an idea of doing a 'modern' sock hop called "High School Confidential". Michael Sicoly and myself were asked to be a part of the house band and sing some numbers. Since 'The Secret Policeman's Other Ball' had recently come out, I was asked to do the Sting Solo version of 'Roxanne'.
In the middle to late 80's, I got a call from Brent Knudsen (now Brent Howard) to do a vocal session for him at Little Mountain Studios in Vancouver. when I got there he asked me to sing the chorus of this song of his called "Delta I'll". I sang it and thought about how much fun it was working with Brent. A little while later he phoned to tell me that the song had made it's way on to a compilation CD. After that, there was to be a video shoot and would I be in the video. I accepted...and it was a riot. I took great pleasure in cracking Brent up during the shoot and it stayed in the final cut. Shot in an old graveyard in Victoria.
During EXPO 86, Rocket Norton received a call to do a daily afternoon 'Beatles Style Show' at 86 Street - a 1200 seat nightclub on the EXPO grounds. Since we had already done the 'Vancouver Show' (where thye above Roxanne clip is from), Rocket thought a great combination would be, Michael Sicoly, myself and Skip Prest and himself from the Vancouver Show Band. The results and the response was so great it eventually became 'Revolver'... an act that built itself up gradually over the years to be a full Beatles theatrical production. The show (when done in a theatre) was amazing and a great act to be a part of. This news piece was done when we played a smaller venue called 'Saturno' in Vancouver. The coolest thing about it was riding up in John Lennon's Famous Rolls Royce.
Since we had so much fun with "Delta I'll" Brent and I became an actual recording band called "ETC' at first and then 'Cloak & Dagger' Here's another video from that era, called Melodrama High. I should mention that the other people in the band for Delta I'll and Melodrama High are John Hanna (Bryan Adams) on keyboards and Rick Eden on drums. Also in the Melodrama High video you'll see a young 'Lochlan Munroe' (Night at the Roxbury, Scary Movie, Wagon's East, Unforgiven and on and on....) playing the 'dude'. Lochlan was a good friend of the band's and offered his services for free...don't think that would happen now though ;-)
Now this was interesting. There was a band called 'Vertigo' that released an album in Canada. They had some success with a couple of singles but the band folded very quickly. One day I received a frantic call from the principal songwriter in the band telling me that the band had folded, everybody hated each other, and since this song off the album was being played on stations, would I please go into the studio, re-sing it, be in the video and also pretent to 'be in the band'...wink wink nudge nudge. I did it. It was a painless session, and the producer was famed producer 'Jack Richardson' who apparently liked my voice, so that felt good.
Now here's the resulting interview for Much Music with Terry David Mulligan. I didn't really know what I was doing there and had to 'tip toe' around the questions TDM was asking me as 'a member of Vertigo'. All in all it was fun and I felt honoured to do it all.
Around the time of "Delta I'll" and "Melodrama High", Marc LaFrance also did a video called 'Can't Get Over You'. Brent and I were also in 'that' video, as part of Marc's backup band. Since collectively we all played as 'Cease and Desist' and frequently played at the Strathcona Hotel in Victoria a fair amount, CHEK TV asked if we would do an interview for their 'CHEK AROUND TV show. What you get is 3 very hungover guys first thing in the morning... and at times it's funny...well Brent is funny... :-)
This is from 2006. Brent hosted a jam at The Point in Port Moody. One night I was there hanging as was Rick Fedyk (Spud). Spud is a monster drummer - especially on Led Zeppelin tunes...the guy has studied Bonham like a thesis. We decided to do Whole Lotta Love and it was caught on video...the sound isn't great, but you can tell it was pretty magic. Spud's drumming at the end is stellar.
